Greater Homewood Community Corporation is Hiring: AmeriCorps*VISTA Position Available



Position: Community Robotics Coordinator 

STEM-ulate young minds through the implementation of a competitive, community-based robotics program for underserved students! GHCC and the Center for Educational Outreach (a component of Johns Hopkins University's Whiting School of Engineering) are seeking a dedicated individual to help develop and pilot a replicable community-based robotics program for Baltimore City school children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to engage in after-school Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) enrichment programs.

AmeriCorps*VISTAs, or Volunteers in Service to America, commit a year of their lives to build capacity for a nonprofit, government agency, or community organization to fight poverty in America. The VISTA program is different from other volunteer programs because VISTAs are committed 24/7 to creating sustainable change. VISTAs receive an annual living allowance of $13,257 ($510 every two weeks) before taxes. Additional member benefits include health coverage, relocation benefits, a monthly transportation stipend, the choice of an Education Award ($5,550) or End of the Year Stipend ($1,500) upon completion of service, and Non-Competitive Eligibility for federal employment for 1 year following your term. GHCC provides ongoing support and professional development opportunities throughout the year.
