Position: York Road Crime Prevention
Organizer/AmeriCorps VISTA
The York Road
Partnership (YRP) seeks an AmeriCorps VISTA member to serve as a community
organizer focused on crime prevention. The VISTA will work with dynamic and
diverse resident volunteers to build and implement a Safe Streets coalition for
the York Road corridor in north Baltimore City.
Applications for
the position will be accepted through September 27, 2013, with interviews
conducted September 30 and October 1. An
offer will be made on October 2. The
placement is for one year, starting late November 2013.
In addition to
the living stipend and educational award provided by AmeriCorps, this
individual will receive first-rate professional and personal development
opportunities. The VISTA will function
as a core part of the York Road Partnership leadership team as the specific
member devoted to advancing community-based efforts to address crime, to
empower community residents in crime prevention, and strengthen the area’s
safety for all.
