The City plows primary routes first, then secondary routes, then neighborhood streets. The map to the right - which, as is often the case, gets bigger if you click on it - shows the primary routes in our part of town.
(If you want to see the whole City, go to the City's Snow Page and look in "Downloads" for a map marked "Primary Snow Routes" with or without neighborhoods. It's a pretty big file though...)
There are also more dynamic maps showing how long since a truck last made a pass along a given route and how many passes have been made along a given route. Both only show primary routes. Have fun tracking our progress and stay warm and safe!

Hi, FYI, please see article below, regarding Morgan State U. students shoveling in neighborhoods surrounding Morgan State U.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought…Perhaps the Lake Walker Community Association could work with Towson U. and Loyola, etc. to give Community Service Credits for students living in Lake Walker who shovel the snow on our sidewalks and, when need-be, our streets, with us?
Does anyone have proper contact with those universities that have students living in our Lake Walker neighborhood ,that would be willing to offer this as a request?
It seems to me, and of course, I could be wrong, that it would be good community service training for the students in our neighborhood, and would help the students to interact with us as their neighbors, and learn the responsibilities of living in a residential, off campus, neighborhood.

Morgan State University, Football Bears, Come to the Aid of Morgan Neighbors

Off-campus parking frustrations around the campus of Morgan State University resulted in some friction between residents of communities surrounding the campus and some of Morgan's students last November. Residents took to the streets to appeal for a resolution to the parking woes faced by students and residents on an almost daily basis. A meeting with President Wilson led to promises of better relations in the future with students, faculty and staff more considerate of the university's neighbors when it comes to parking on the streets surrounding the campus.
The Morgan community made good on that promise this morning when a number of players for the Morgan State Bears football team came out to several side streets adjacent to the campus and shoveled their neighbors' sidewalks and walkways and cleaned their vehicles of snow. "This is such a wonderful thing," said one elderly woman who expressed her gratitude for the players' efforts and was delighted that she would not have to contend with the weather on her sidewalk. "I am very grateful that these young men came out to help me."
