Summer Activity Extroadinaire: August 6-17, 2012
In 1997 Carl Grubbs, internationally renowned saxophonist,
and Barbara Harrell Grubbs, retired educator, founded Summer Activity
Extraordinaire (SAX) Music and Dance Camp Program. The program is held on the
campus of Loyola University
in Maryland .
SAX provides music and dance training and appreciation to children and youth
ages 4-17. The program accepts
participants at all levels of proficiency.
SAX offers an intense two-week specialized arts program of
individualized, small and large group instruction in selected areas of
instrumental/vocal music and dance. Our instructors are local artists who have
experience teaching youth. We own our
own instruments and participants are allowed to take them home to practice.
Participants bring or purchase their lunches in the college
café.
