Post-Storm Update - July 4th, 4:45pm
.
As of 4:36pm today, 19,387 customers in Baltimore City are still without power; 154,320 customers have had their power restored.
The City is operating shelters for those still without power at the following locations:
- 1400 E Federal Street
- 3006 W Cold Spring Lane
DPW has announced that the special bulk pick up for storm debris has been extended to the 13th of July. Call 311 to schedule a pick-up.
The number of blocked streets is down to under 60. The City is continuing to clear trees from blocked roadways and utility lines and has started removing trees blocking houses or on top of cars.
Most city park and walk-to pools have regained power and will operate as scheduled; only Walter P. Carter’s walk-to pool and Clifton Park’s pool remain closed. In response to today’s extreme heat, Recreation & Parks has extended pool operations by one hour. Park pools will open 1-7 p.m. and walk-to pools will open 1-5 p.m. Normal holiday hours for park and walk-to pools are 1-6 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. respectively. For more details, click here.
A Code Red Heat Alert is in effect today and has been extended through Thursday. To accommodate residents without electricity due to recent, historic storms, Baltimore City is opening additional cooling centers. All centers are open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In our area, the Northern District Community Action Center at 5225 York Road is open as a Cooling Center, providing air-conditioned comfort and bottled water, free of charge!
