Mid-Govans Neighborhood Selected for Rebuilding Together Baltimore's Rebuilding Day 2013
Congratulations are in order for the Mid-Govans community, which applied for and was selected to be the location of Rebuilding Together Baltimore's Rebuilding Day 2013!
Rebuilding Together Baltimore is a non-profit that helps revitalize communities by utilizing volunteers to help low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, disabled, or families with children, make much-needed repairs to their homes.
"Rebuilding Day" is the organization's main event, during which on the last Saturday in April, volunteer laborers (both skilled and unskilled) work in one selected City neighborhood to bring home repair services to between 30 and 70 homes and to complete at least one community project. Between 800 and 1,000 volunteers are mobilized for this event.
Mid-Govans beat out many other applicants for Rebuilding Together Baltimore's designation, which will help strengthen this wonderful North Baltimore community. See their newsletter for more information.
