Youth Safe Haven Director sought for nonprofit, community-based organization in north Baltimore City.
This vacancy at Greater Homewood Community Corporation (GHCC) is a full-time, exempt position and
is part of GHCC’s Neighborhood Programs team.
GHCC’s mission is to build and strengthen vibrant urban neighborhoods in north-central Baltimore.
Neighborhood Programs focuses in lower income and middle market neighborhoods to improve the
quality of life in north-central Baltimore. GHCC operates the Barclay Youth Safe Haven after school
program located at Dallas F. Nicholas Elementary School to provide safe, engaging enrichment activities
for program attendees.
The Youth Safe Haven Director manages the after school program at Dallas F. Nicholas to provide
students with a well rounded academic, mentoring, and youth development opportunity in the
Barclay community and establish positive relationships and give students tools for productive
citizenship.
The Director is responsible for managing all requirements of grant funding, including additional
fundraising, recruitment of mentors, securing teacher and parental support, fostering community
and police activities, and marketing the program in the community, as well as implementing the
afterschool component of the program.
