North Baltimore Public Safety Summit -- Saturday, April 28


Please join the York Road Partnership (YRP) and NorthEast Community Organization (NECO) along with Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld, III to present the first annual North Baltimore Public Safety Summit.

When: Saturday, April 28 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Where: Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Road,  Baltimore, MD 21212

We strive to bring information and programs that will educate, strengthen, and inform communities about personal and public safety concerns that will help make our neighborhoods safer places to live, work and play.

Our Agenda includes:

  • 8:30- 9:00 - Registration begins (includes light continental breakfast, coffee and tea)
  • 9:00-9:15 - Welcome and Opening Comments –Eileen Gwin and Scherod Barnes and 4th District Councilman Henry
  • 9:15 -9:45 - Keynote Speech- Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld, III
  • 9:45- 10:15 - Cyber Safety - Detective Sergeant Yamin
  • 10:15-10:45 - Gang Education – Major Akil Hamm (BCPS)
  • 10:45-11:15 - Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED)- Officer Jon Walter, Peter Bieneman, & Brad Baird
  • 11:15- 11:45 - Personal Safety- Officer Doug Gibson
  • 11:45-12:00 - COP, Operation ID & Crime Watch- Officer Jon Walter
  • 12:00- 12:45 - Q & A Panel (Panel includes all speakers, Director Fox- Loyola University and Major Tapp- Harper & Deputy Major Worley - Northern District and Major DeSousa- North East District)

Closing Remarks - Lisa O’Reilly and Pete Pakas
