Greater Homewood Community Corporation Seeks Title 1 Parent Organizer


Are you passionate about quality urban education? The Greater Homewood Community Corporation is looking for a Title 1 Parent Organizer AmeriCorps VISTA to help organize and empower parents to advocate for their children’s education.

The Title 1 Parent Organizer is responsible for organizing parents of Baltimore City elementary school students in three schools to increase parent involvement in the school and its governance.  The Organizer will work with established parent groups, the Baltimore Education Coalition, and other resources to bolster the number of engaged parents and empower them to advocate for quality urban public education at the neighborhood, local, and state level!

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is not a job per se, but a national service opportunity. Benefits include: Living allowance, health benefits, $35/month travel stipend and an education award upon completion. Qualifications: College degree.
