CPHA Seeking Nominations for Hathaway Ferebee Neighborhood Achievement Award

2012 Hathaway Ferebee Neighborhood Achievement Award

Call for Nominations
Nominations are being sought for the annual Hathaway FerebeeNeighborhood Achievement Award. The award will be presented at the Citizens Planning and Housing Association’s (CPHA) Annual Meeting in November 2012.
This award was established in 1996 to honor Hathaway’s contributions to CPHA, her commitment to Baltimore’s neighborhoods, and to the involvement of residents in community and city life. This award honors neighborhood/community groups for all that they make happen to ensure vibrant, healthy neighborhoods.
The award is given to a neighborhood organization or group that best reflects the values of community organizing. The organization must have, during the past year, effectively rallied residents to address an issue of importance to the community and, in doing so, achieved a measurable, recognizable change in the community.
The award is given in honor of accomplishments of the past year, rather than plans for future organizing. Thanks to the generosity of a group of people who contributed to establish this award, it carries a monetary value each year of $1,000. This award money may be used at the discretion of the group receiving the award to continue community improvement efforts, and should not be viewed as a grant.
Nominations must be submitted by October 30. Nominations are accepted by email, fax, or online: http://www.cphabaltimore.org/ferebee.

Additionally, you may know of one individual who has demonstrated great civic leadership in his or her life. Please consider nominating someone for CPHA's Civic Statesmanship Award. Click here for more details: http://www.cphabaltimore.org/froelicher/.
