Loyola University is Hiring: AmeriCorps VISTA Position Available

Position:  DeWees Community Recreation Council Organizer/AmeriCorps VISTA

Loyola University Maryland is seeking a community organizer for the DeWees Recreation Center. This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position that will work with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks and the Mid-Govans Community Association to organize diverse residents and partners and coordinate the development of an innovative model for the DeWees Community Recreation Council. 

The VISTA will function as a core part of Loyola's York Road Initiative team, devoted to building an engaged and empowered community of residents, businesses, and institutions, focused on efforts to strengthen the area and its commercial corridor, build civic capacity, and enhance youth development.

The position is open until April 10, 2013, with interviews conducted in early April 17, 18, 19. The placement is for one year, starting June 17, 2013.

In addition to the living stipend and educational award provided by AmeriCorps, this individual will receive housing on Loyola’s campus and first-rate professional and personal development opportunities.
