Now Hiring: Baltimore Conservation Leadership Corps.

To qualify:
· Be a 15-18 year old
student at a public city high school looking for a challenging summer job.
· Thoroughly and
completely fill out an application.
· Submit a completed
application to Civic Works by April 22.

· Attend one mandatory
service day- Sun. 4/7, Sat. 4/20, 4/27, or 5/4
· Schedule and
successfully attend an interview - will take place in April and May.
What are the requirements to participate?
· You must live in Baltimore .
· You must be 15-18 years
of age.
· You must be enrolled in
a public Baltimore
high school.
· You must provide a
Social Security Card, Valid State Photo ID and Birth Certificate and obtain a
Work Permit (Due by June 7th, 2013) if accepted into the program.
· You must have the
additional medical documentation form completed (may require a physical exam).
· Students 18+ must pass a
criminal history background check
What are the dates and how long does the program run?
July 8 is our start date. This includes an orientation/job training and
ongoing educational field trips throughout the summer. You must be available
for the full six weeks of the program. The program ends on August 16.
What are the work days and what is the compensation?
Crew members work Monday-Thursday and half days on Friday. You will earn
$7.50 an hour. You will be paid for educational field trips and job training.
Where do we meet each day?
You will be responsible for meeting your Crew Leaders each morning at a
designated site for the duration of the program. You will be dropped off at the
same location at the end of the work day except on Friday, which is a half day.
What exactly will I be doing as a crew member?
You will spend each day engaged in hands-on conservation work outdoors.
You could be working on trail building, park maintenance and improvement, urban
agriculture projects or many other exciting projects. It's very hard work, but
the end results will be satisfying and you will be part of this nation’s spirit
of service.
How do I know this program is for me?
We require all applicants to attend a Service Day event to get a taste
of conservation work. Projects will take place between April and May.
Participation is mandatory to receive an interview.
